Abstract

This chapter investigates the role of thyroid hormones (TH) in late brain development. A lack of TH during late brain development results in permanent deficits in brain function, including intellectual development and behavior. The effects of TH on cellular development and brain gene transcription and the molecular basis of TH are also investigated.
