Abstract

The escalating use of gonadotrophin ovulatory drugs and assisted reproductive technology in the last two decades has resulted in a dramatic upsurge of latrogenic multifetal pregnancies and concomitant complications. Multifetal pregnancy reduction (MFPR) was introduced as a viable therapeutic option to circumvent the most common complications associated with high-order multifetal pregnancies. MFPR is a reasonable and effective therapeutic option for infertile couples faced with the enormous physical and psychologic burden of carrying high-order multifetal pregnancies.
