Mycosis fungoides. Clinical features of 22 patients

Twenty two patients with the lymphoreticular neoplasm mycosis fungoides were admitted to this hospital between 1960 and 1974. In many patients, the initial diagnosis was psoriasis. Eight patients are known to have died. All eight had previously developed cutaneous ulcers or tumors. No patients developed erythroderma. Multiple therapeutic approaches were employed, but no single one was universally better or prevented death. This study supports the need for a multicentered prospective study of classification and therapy of mycosis fungoides.
