Abstract

It is of great importance to image cortical electrical activities from noninvasive scalp EEG measurements. The regularization method has been widely used to obtain the inverse solution in order to overcome the ill-posed nature of the inverse problem. In this paper, a new method is presented for implementation of regularization to reconstruct the cortical potential distribution from scalp potential measurements. The simulation study indicates that the newly developed method is an excellent alternative for cortical imaging study.
