Abstract

This paper tries to solve problems related to grid connection of wind turbines using series compensation. A new scheme is proposed for Doubly fed induction generators (DFIG) connected to grid. This scheme helps in limiting fault currents as well as balancing the voltages seen by DFIG. Reactive power compensation is also taken into account and is done by rotor side converter control.
