Abstract
We introduce the concept of a new approach to the inverse electrocardiography, in which the body surface Laplacian electrograms instead of potential electrograms are employed to reconstruct the epicardial equivalent source distributions. We tested the ideas by means of computer simulation studies using a concentric spheres volume conductor model. The present computer simulation results suggest that the epicardial potential inverse solution from the body surface Laplacian map (BSLM) has higher reconstruction precision and greater stability than the inverse solution from the body surface potential map (BSPM) for the myocardial source configurations studied.
