Abstract
This study focuses on the way in which small amounts of chromate and nitrate (1 to 30 ppm) present in water affect the open circuit potential at 250 C. Type 304 and Alloy 600 were solution anneled at 1050 C for 1 hour and then water quenched. Nickel was annealed at 700 C for 3 hours, then air cooled, Platinum was tested in an as-received condition.
