Abstract

The optimal control problem of a singularly perturbed nonlinear system with state and control inequality constraints is investigated. First, the problem is formulated in a more general and different form and the various characteristic features of the analysis are discussed. Next, after reviewing briefly the previous methods, two more methods are proposed. One is based on the idea of a reformulation of the optimal control problem with constraints. This method which reformulates the constrained optimal control problem as an unconstrained problem using special derivative multipliers, is expected to provide more efficient and accurate numerical solutions to constrained optimal control problems. The second method is. based on neighboring optimal control with constraints.
