Abstract

In this paper, we describe an algorithm and its implementation that allow a high precision measurement of the speed of rotating objects using a microcontroller. The precision of measurements using any digital computer is limited by the finite clock frequencies present in the system. Our algorithm overcomes this limitation by dynamically adjusting the time over which the measurement is taken.
