N2 - Paradoxical interventions have been widely and effectively used as primary therapeutic tools in brief counseling modalities. Thus the use of paradoxical techniques in college counseling centeres is becoming more attractive because of the increased emphasis on short-term, problem focused therapy. However, before successful use of these techniques can be undertaken, certain necessary conditions must exist. This article describes those conditions and two cases from a college counseling center are used to highlight them.
