Abstract
This article provides a retrospective summary of a special guest edited series of articles published in Zeitschrift für Personalpsychologie from 2006 to 2008 on personality at work. The papers in the series originated from a symposium held at the University of Lüneburg and focused on the relationships of personality with labor market conditions, extrinsic career success as well as the influence of criterion measurement on the validity of assessment tools. Prospects for the future are discussed.
