Abstract

If changes in the economy are associated with changes in the political cycle, then business planning might be improved. Planning would be contingent on an assessment of changing political conditions. For example, business plans for Republican administrations would differ from plans for Democratic administrations; the steps that businesses would take would vary depending on the year in the election cycle; and their actions would be contingent on whether incumbents or non- incumbents were in power.
