Abstract
In plants, both microtubule-associated proteins (MAPS) and viral movement proteins (MPs) interact with microtubules. Recently, a unique plant structural MAP has been cloned, which may have a specialized function in cell division. Other recent work has identified a viral MP sequence that mimics a tubulin motif and allows the MP to bind to the microtubule lattice.
