A study of 500 psychiatric clinic patients indicated that serious crime (felony conviction) was chiefly associated with sociopathy, alcoholism, and drug dependence. Except for sexually deviant behavior leading to arrest and conviction, other psychiatric disorders are infrequently associated with felonies.
