Abstract

The creation and execution of planned switching sequences is a routine task in utility operations. Computer systems are being integrated into the process in different degrees to provide evaluation and checks to prevent errors in the switching sequences that might cause injury to personnel, damage to equipment or loss of load. This paper discusses an expert system that can evaluate the correctness of a switching sequence as well as evaluate the optimality of the transfer path of the sequence using a load loss risk assessment algorithm.
