Abstract

Experimental data for two similar HDPE are presented. Several measurements of shear viscosity and elasticity, dynamic shear moduli, and extensional viscosity are reported and compared. Rheological characterization was carried out with a capillary rheometer, melt strength apparatus, cone and plate flow, eccentric rotating disks and with a new extensional viscosity test. Similar results were found with melt strength. Dynamic elasticity, G', did not show as much difference. Elongational viscosities differed only at slow rates of extension and long extension times.
