Abstract
In this chapter, I discuss history, current diagnostic criteria, epidemiology, genetics, etiology, clinical signs and symptoms, laboratory investigations, differential diagnosis, pharmacological and behavioral treatment modalities, prognosis, and course of illness for schizophrenia. The emphasis in this chapter is the etiopathogenesis and relevant biological treatments for this disorder.
