Abstract
The paper presents a design tool allowing the estimation of the optimal signal settings for pretimed oversaturated signals; and demonstrates that the proposed methodology is reliable and can be used in practice. This is accomplished by generating numerical examples based on field data collected at an intersection located in a suburban environment in the Minneapolis-St Paul metropolitan area.
