Abstract
Recent X-ray crystallography studies on two non-heme iron enzymes (see picture, orange Fe, red O, blue N) involved in oxygen activation and superoxide detoxification have provided unique structural insights into intermediates in their individual reaction pathways. The results of these studies and their mechanistic significance are discussed. (Figure Presented).
