Abstract
A templating technique was employed to fabricate thin porous metallic films as colloidal crystals of silica spheres. Two different methods were used forming the metallic films. The first method used mixture of gold and latex particles, which after being translated by an electric motor yeilded thin film of gold and latex particles. The second method used static cell for radial depostion of latex and gold films. The appearence of the films was studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) amd atomic force microscopy (AFM) technique.
