Abstract

Sub-failure damage in ligament was analyzed. It altered the mechanical properties of the anterior cruciate ligament and lengthen the toe region of the force-displacement curve. Results from the study indicated that rat medial collateral ligaments strained above 5.14% do not regain their original length after significant recovery time and hence remain stretched.
