Subcoracoid bursitis as an unusual cause of painful anterior shoulder snapping in a weight lifter

We have presented the case of a weight lifter with painful anterior shoulder snapping caused by a subcoracoid bursitis. Although rare, subcoracoid bursitis should be considered as a potential cause of painful anterior shoulder snapping. Thediagnosis of subcoracoid bursitis is suggestedwhenfluid is present within the subcoracoid bursa, but identification of snapping subcoracoid bursitis requires dynamic evaluation of the soft tissues with a diagnostic modality such as ultrasound. Although the initial treatment should include standard nonoperative measures, surgical intervention may be required for resolution of symptoms.
