Abstract

Our studies of the magnetic properties of RNi2B2C single crystals (R = Y, Gd-Tm, Lu) are reviewed. Of particular interest are the ordered magnetic structures when R is a magnetic rare earth atom, the interaction between magnetism and superconductivity, the influence of crystalline electric fields on the magnetic rare earth ions with resultant effects on these behaviors, and the magnetic character of the Ni sublattice.
