Abstract

Strontium barium niobate (SBW) at the composition Sr 58a 5623 06 been used to make several surface acoustic wave (SAW) delay lines In order to study the SAW properties o£ SBM. It was fiound that far u)aveA propagating In the (001) direction, the SAW velocity was 3.2 × 103 m/sec and the SAW coupling constant was 6 × 10 −4 . These characteristics are comparable to the values far the related material barium sodium nlobate (BaWaWbgO). The relatively low coupling constant and large dielectric constants 0 SBW make it unattractive far SAW device applications.
