abstract = "This paper presents the simulation of the control strategy of a matrix converter that directly connects the three phase source to the three phase load.The strategies include the carrier based control scheme for input power factor control and the hysteresis control scheme for output voltage control.The objective of the proposed study is the investigation and optimisation of the switching loss and the input current distortion in the output hysteresis controlled matrix converter operating at different switching frequencies and a fixed hysteresis band .The simulation of the matrix converter model with an inductive load has been done using the Simulink environment in MATLAB.",
