Abstract
Bone marrow transplantation is currently used to treat a variety of life-threatening diseases. Its applications could be expanded if the risks of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), a complex pathologic disease, could be reduced. Immunotoxins may provide a means to control drug refractory GVHD. This article will discuss the development of immunotoxin approaches for either GVHD prevention or treatment, and explore their limitations.
