Abstract

This special issue addresses the link between innovation and technology and competitive conditions and strategies in the global marketplace. Analysis is presented for both individual and high-tech industries. A total of 9 papers are presented, including the following: culture, organisation in the workplace, and hindrances to US high-tech competitiveness; innovation and competitive advantage in global competition; dynamics of competition in US and Japanese pharmaceutical companies; managing technological innovation in the global software industry and the future prospects for managing technology in the global market. -N.Davey
