N2 - A computer controlled servohydraulic control system has been developed to replicate the complex forces and motions involved in mastication and also to simulate actual conditions of corrosion and thermal shock in an oral environment in order to study the wear properties of materials used in dental restoration. It is possible by using this high speed servohydraulic system to subject materials to five years of wear in a matter of weeks. (H.C.B.)
