Abstract
The development of voids in a flat McVittie background is calculated, in the thin-shell approximation. This work follows closely that of Lake & Pim (1985); the basic modification is the introduction of the McVittie spacetime, which describes a spherical mass embedded in an asymptotically Robertson-Walker spacetime.
