Abstract

A techniques for three-dimensional reconstruction and motion analysis of cardiac leads was developed. The methodology was applied in clinical studies for characterization of intracardiac motion of defibrillating leads implanted in the right ventricle apex of human patients. Studies indicated that the major stressed segments of the leads were located in the right atrium, on the tricuspid annulus, and the right ventricle.
