Urinary incontinence. An introduction

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

This schemata briefly outlines the therapeutic approaches to different groups of incontinent patients. Using this approach, many incontinent patients can become continent. Unfortunately, these procedures are not appliciable to all patients. The patient with poor motivation or poor manual dexterity will never learn to function with an incontinence sphincter. Insofar as incontinence effects such a large percentage of elderly patients, however, there is active interest by the health planning agencies to address this problem.
