Abstract

In this paper the authors look at the main problems involved in integrating expert systems into control systems. This may be done simply by providing 'on-command' advice for the operator by means of an expert system, or it may be done by integrating automatic sensor readings and control algorithms together with an expert system responding to human provided data. Two practical examples illustrating such expert controllers are presented.
