Abstract
Video-based hypermedia were developed to leverage current Internet technologies to provide an advanced multimedia environment for publishing. Hyper QuickTime (HQT) was developed to validate the video-based hypermedia concept and then extended to come up with Networked Hyper QuickTime (NHQT) as a prototype system for education-on-demand. NHQT software has a video stream software module to retrieve data from a video server through the Internet or an asynchronous transfer mode testbed network.
