Abstract

Green monkey kidney cells (Vero) were cultivated on microspheres with a median diameter of 23 μm. Aggregates were formed two days after inoculation and eventually reached a few hundred micrometers in diameter. Cells in these aggregates remained viable throughout the cultivation period and were successfully used for the production of vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV).
