Abstract

Up to 3 moles of Li are inserted per mole of V2O5 • 0.5 H2O xerogel (XRG), as shown by concurrent charge and mass measurements with a quartz crystal microbalance. Further, it is demonstrated that only Li+ ions are intercalated from the electrolyte, without cointercalation by other species in LiClO4 solutions in propylene carbonate.
