Kyle G Gill

Kyle became CFC’s forest manager in December of 2015, looking to build an active forest management and research program that focuses on forests as complex adaptive systems. He believes that actively managing forests using techniques that mimic natural forest development is the best method of forest stewardship, preservation, and conservation because it promotes the capacity for ecosystem resilience and adaptation to expected and unexpected changes. Changes mabe driven by climate and other forms of abiotic, biotic and human-caused changes. He also realizes that managing a forest takes humility and recognition of the limited amount of factors that he can influence - he prefers to take the stance that he is a part of the system.
