Personal profile

Research interests

For the past decade, I have been involved in medical imaging in humans and more particularly the use of structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) in research and clinical settings. In particular, I have developed tools to better correct motion artifacts in resting-state fMRI (rs-fMRI), studied the reliability of rs-fMRI and applied this modality to study the impact and/or the manifestation of post-traumatic stress disorders on the brains of war veterans and children. In addition, my current research focuses on the improvement of deep brain stimulation (DBS) therapy for movement disorders by using high-resolution MRI at 7 Tesla (T). This work aims at making each aspect of DBS more patient-specific by only focusing our efforts on data coming from a given patient and eliminating the use of templates and group averages. This research encompasses all aspects of DBS after a patient elects to undergo surgery.
