Abstract

A process for developing and implementing an assessment plan in chemical engineering departments, University of North Dakota, is discussed. Departments are required to analyze their program goals early and recognize the size of the task that they face. Key points as suggested are identification of goals, involvement of students and other constituents, minimization of data required to collect and analyze, and to have multiple indicators for each objective. It is observed that only through progressive discussions and a systematic approach to planning, the task can be accomplished.
