Abstract

Critical interactive infrastructures present unique challenges to the academic community for networks security, robust control and reliable operation. Infrastructure networks with several functional, operational and management layers as well as many independent points of interaction between owners, operators, sellers, and buyers are considered complex because the number of possible interactions rises at a dramatically higher rate than thenumber of participants. Infrastructures that interact with their users and other networks, create additional complexity because the interaction of their elements further increases the number of possible outcomes.
