Abstract

In this volume, an international group of economists, trade negotiators, and environmentalists brings diverse perspectives to bear on the connection between trade and the environment. Providing a conceptual framework to help assess the issues, the contributors address three themes. First, they explore the dimensions of the economic and political linkages of trade and the environment. Second, they examine economic and political linkages in developed countries - as well as the impact of environmental regulations on agricultural competitiveness. Finally, they discuss linkages among trade, economic growth, and the environment in developing nations. -Publisher
