Alcohol and the Opiate Receptor

Abstract

A number of in vivo studies have suggested that alcohol and the opiates may be integrally related in the brain. In this study we report that 0.1, 0.2, and 0.4% ethanol significantly increases the density of binding sites for [3H]naloxone in isolated brain membranes.
