Abstract

We study the performance of spatially invariant plants interconnected through a static network. Such structures commonly arise in multi-agent systems and systems described by partial differential equations with constant coefficients. We introduce a new notion of Bode sensitivity integral for such interconnections of systems. We comment on a new Waterbed effect in two dimensions, space and time and evaluate examples to show the role of Bode Integral as a fundamental limitation in feedback interconnection of distributed systems.
