Abstract

In today's ever changing and complex environment, academic libraries must clearly articulate a vision in which they advance a mission focused on the knowledge lifecycle, while simultaneously advancing the broader teaching, learning and research needs of its faculty, staff and students. Strategic campus collaborations and partnerships are critical to this endeavor. In this presentation, I offer a vision for a contemporary academic library and discuss ways in which to cultivate potential partners and campus champions, with a focus on offering opportunities for experimentation, immersion and knowledge creation within an increasingly interdisciplinary environment. My goal is to help academic libraries position themselves as critical connectors and creative catalysts, recognized and valued for their expertise in shaping teaching, learning and research.
