Abstract
Given a continuous-time system, a technique to directly obtain a delta-operator formulated discretetime approximation of continuous-time controller is presented. The proposed method is based on matching all the states for the development of the equivalent digital controllers. It is shown that, when the sampling time decreases, the state feedback gain, forward gain and the eigenvalues of the δ-system tend to the continuous counter part. The technique is then applied to a space station example.
