Abstract

A review of recent research and applications using electric fields and corona wind to augment heat transfer processes is presented. An overview of the various kinds of electrofluid interactions in single and two-phase systems is given first as a background to detailed discussions of fundamental studies of electrostatically enhanced heat transfer. A focus is maintained on internal and external forced convection and free convection since these processes underlie many of the current and potential industrial applications of electro-thermal phenomena.
