Abstract

We demonstrate that nanoresonators on a VO 2 thin film help amplify the available optical pump-terahertz probe transmission nonlinearity. With subpicosecond time scale of VO 2 phase transition, dramatically enhanced ultrafast control of THz transmission is enabled by moderate optical pump while no switching dynamics is observed for bare VO 2 films.
