Abstract

This essay addresses the need to develop theory for family victimization to go with theory of individual victimization. An understanding of how family victimization occurs is necessary in order to help families advance in family strength and empowerment and recover from family victimization. Some contributions to family victimization theory are made; therapeutic strategies for empowerment are suggested.
