Abstract

In this issue of Blood, Oevermann et al report on a cohort of 85 children (median age, 10 years) undergoing T-cell-depleted haploidentical hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), where variations in the killer-cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) gene "content" of the donor were associated with significantly less relapse and improved disease-free survival.
