Abstract

In this paper, the multiresolution time domain (MRTD) algorithms based on several wavelet bases, namely, Daubechies, biorthogonal Coiflet, and cubic spline Battle-Lemarie, are studied. A rigorous treatment of MRTD method for inhomogeneous media structure is given. Focusing on the study of reflected and transmission coefficients for electromagnetic wave on a stratified slab media, the accuracy of the MRTD scheme and efficiency are discussed. The obtained propagation characteristics of single and periodical stratified media are compared with those of the FDTD and the analytic solution.
