Abstract

A monolithic, continuous wave (cw) device incorporating a lossless filter approach is proposed as a means to increase the single-transverse-mode output power of vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs). Such a device will have single-mode operation from 17 to 29 mA.
